Triad Group Drops More Than 260 Lbs.

It’s a chance for you to get out and walk for a good cause.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- There’s nothing this group can’t do!

You’ll find lots of inspiration at the LIFESPAN Creative Campus Guilford. The center for adults with disabilities allows them to get out and get active. Since beginning last year the group has lost more than 260 lbs. together.

Now the group is getting ready for the upcoming Dandelion Walk on Saturday, April 30. That’s where you come in as you can get moving too.

The instructors there get the students pumped up about exercise but that’s not all. The creative center is really just that. It’s filled with students who create and sell their own artwork. Inside you’ll find beautiful pottery, paintings, sculptures and more all created by the artists and for sale.

Take a walk just down the hall and other students are learning to play instruments. Turn another corner and their learning how to cook. Students there also learn computer skills, health, current events, and gardening.

You can help out by taking part in the Dandelion Walk. It’s Saturday, April 30 and is one mile with loop options. Registration is at 9:00 a.m. with the walk beginning at 10:00 a.m. It’s at The George Andreve Gardens located at 908 McClellan Place in Greensboro. You can register at LIFESPANservices or call 336-852-1495.
