GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Veterans Day should be every day but since only one day is devoted to it we want to make sure you know about freebies.
Veterans Day is Friday, November 11 and a variety of restaurants and stores are offering free deals or discounts at participating locations. Make sure you carry your proof of service or valid military ID.

Veterans and active duty military, and reservists will get a free appetizer or dessert from November 10 - 11. Must show proof of service with military ID card.

Veterans and active duty military will receive a complimentary entrée from a special all-day ‘Veterans Day’ menu with the purchase of any non-alcoholic beverage on Friday, November 11. On Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13 veterans and active duty military will receive their choice of breakfast, lunch or dinner entrees on the ‘Veterans Day’ menu for a special price of $5.99 with the purchase of any non-alcoholic beverage. Must show proof of military service.

3. Golden Corral
Golden Corral will host Military Appreciation night with a free “thank you” dinner on Monday, November 14th from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. The dinner is for Veterans, retirees, and active duty members. 4. Hooters
On Friday, November 11, all veterans and active-duty military can enjoy a free entrée from the Hooters ‘Veterans Day’ Menu by presenting a military ID or proof of service at any Hooters location nationwide.

8. Olive Garden
On Friday, November 11 all Veterans and military duty will receive a free meal from a special ‘Veterans Day Menu.’ The special menu features six of Olive Garden’s most popular items. 9. Chili’s
On Friday, November 11 all Veterans and military duty will receive a free entrée from a special Veterans Day menu.

All veterans and active-duty military are invited on Veterans Day to get a free meal from the $9.99 menu at O’Charley’s. Must show proof of service.
19. Sheetz
All veterans and active-duty military can get a free 6-inch turkey sub and a fountain drink free at Sheetz on Veterans Day. Must show proof of service. More Details: Sheetz
20. Empire Beauty School
All veterans and current armed forces members can get a complimentary haircut on Friday from 9am to 3pm by showing military ID. Empire Beauty School is located at 1312 Bridford Parkway in Greensboro.
21. Burlington Animal Shelter - Pets For Vets
Beginning Friday, November 11 and moving forward, Burlington Animal Services will waive pet adoption fees for all military veterans. The only requirement is he adopter must present their military ID or proof of service at the time of adoption.
22. Free Wedding Ceremonies For Veterans
All Faiths Wedding Officiants of the Triad is partnering with the area's top wedding vendors to offer a free wedding ceremony to any veteran who wishes to get married on Veterans Day. Space is limited. Contact Bella Bella Collina Mansion in Stokesdale to schedule a time at 336-644-6713.
23. Black Angus Steakhouse
Black Angus Steakhouse will provide veterans and active-duty military with a complimentary meal to show their support on Veterans Day. Must show proof of military service.

The cafe is offering veterans 50% off their meal Friday, Nov. 11.
33. Greensboro Farmers Curb Market
Starting Saturday, Nov. 12, veterans who present their Guilford County Veteran ID Card or other proof of service to the Market’s front desk will receive a reusable shopping tote and vendors across the Market will offer discounts to veterans registered in the 'Thank a Vet' discount program.
34. NC Zoo
Veterans and active-duty military members are invited to visit the North Carolina Zoo free of charge on Veterans Day. You must show a military ID to get in free of charge. Up to six guests can receive $2 off standard price of admission to the conservation park. The NC Zoo is located in Asheboro.
