Winston-Salem Police Add Resources to Help In Search To Find Kristen McNeal

Due to the circumstances and the strange nature of the case, police are adding more resources to the search for Kristen McNeal.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Ten days after she went missing, a silver alert is still in effect for a 30-year-old Winston-Salem woman.

Winston-Salem Police added the case to its criminal investigation division.

Police confirm the disappearance of Kristen Leigh McNeal is under investigation by the department, however, Lieutenant Gregory Dorn says they do not have anything to indicate this is criminal at this time. Due to the circumstances and the strange nature of the case, police are adding more resources to the search.

McNeal was last seen on February 17 in the area of Winter Hue Street. On Tuesday morning, investigators brought in a helicopter from the state's Highway Patrol to search a two-mile area around her home, specifically looking for her car.

Officials say McNeal's car is a 1989 Oldsmobile. It is a four-door sedan, white in color and the entire front end, hood and fenders are spray painted black. The vehicle has a spare tire on the back left driver’s side.

Thursday, police released pictures of McNeal sitting in the driver's seat of the Oldsmobile. The pictures were taken on Feb. 15, two days before she was reported missing.
