Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan made their first public appearance as a married couple to celebrate Prince Charles' birthday. The couple delayed their honeymoon to honor Prince Charles.
Royal etiquette dictates no touching in public. However, Meghan didn't heed that rule. When she and Harry walked up the steps, she reached out to touch him - from his upper back to his lower back and finally holding onto his arm.
By Meghan touching Harry's back then arm indicates a role reversal because men typically lead and guide with this gesture. Additionally, she's not shy about showing her affection for her man. And she's also silently stating that he's taken.
By taking the lead, Meghan is showing her confidence in taking charge when needed. By Harry's response, he's absolutely ok with it. This interdependence is a sign of a solid relationship.
