Video and pictures show the reality that California National Guard members and other first responders are dealing with in the northern part of the state.

The wildfires have killed more than 30 people - making it the deadliest week of wildfires in California's history.

Video sent to us by the California National Guard shows guardsmen flying high above the wildfires, dumping thousands of gallons of water onto the flames.

The Department of Defense tweeted more than 60,000 gallons of water have been dumped onto the wildfires.

Fire officials say two of the biggest blazes are burning in Sonoma and Napa Counties are now at least 25 percent contained.
