GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro Police say the person who shot and killed a Dudley High School student last month acted in self defense.
James Currie, 17, was shot and killed on March 25. Police released an update on the investigation on Friday.
Investigators believe the shooting was the result of an armed robbery. They say Currie tried to rob someone, and was fatally shot. Investigators say the person who shot him "acted in self defense."
Police say no one else was involved in the shooting.
Police say there is no threat to the community, and the investigation is ongoing and will be turned over to the District Attorney's office for review.
