President Joe Biden promotes COVID vaccination campaign in Raleigh

President Joe Biden's visit comes as state health leaders struggle to get more people vaccinated despite incentives like the million-dollar lottery.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — President Joe Biden spoke in Raleigh Thursday while promoting COVID-19 vaccine and outreach initiatives.

His visit comes as state health leaders struggle to get more people vaccinated despite incentives like the million-dollar lottery.

Biden spoke at the Green Street Community Center because they have a mobile vaccine unit that will go out into neighborhoods and bring the shot right to people's front door. The president said that's the kind of effort it's going to take if we want to end this pandemic once and for all.

Biden wants 70% of all American adults to be vaccinated by July Fourth. However, the White House said it will miss the target despite increased effort to push the vaccination campaign.

Biden also met with frontline workers and toured the mobile vaccination unit during his visit.
