Dogs Killed, Guns Stolen During Lexington Home Break-In: Police

Lexington Police arrested Isaiah Scott Beck and Jaylen Deshawn Sawyer in connection with the robbery.

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Two people have been arrested and police are looking for a third suspect after a Lexington home break-in.

Police said the robbers shot into the home killing two dogs. The robbery occurred just after 1:15 a.m. at the house on Agner Lane. The homeowner told police the robbers shot through the glass door killing both the dogs. Once inside, the robbers stole two guns before getting away.

Police later arrested Isaiah Scott Beck and Jaylen Deshawn Sawyer in connection with the robbery. That’s after police tried to pull over a KIA in the area of Young Drive and Old Highway 64 East. Beck who was driving tried to run from the police which resulted in a chase. Beck crashed the KIA during the chase. Both Beck and Sawyer then ran away from the crash but were arrested on Frankwood Drive.

Neighbors in the area said police searched well into the morning
on a road, that's normally quiet and peaceful.

“Nothing happens on our road. The only thing that we get is really a stray dog. I'm serious. Like we know every car that comes through here,” said Savannah Frady who works at a personal care home on the street.

Neighbors are still in shock about how the crime was this time in their own community.

“All I can say is people are insane. That's it. There's something wrong with the world today and they don't need to bring it here,” said Frady.

Sawyer and Beck both face multiple charges, including Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Breaking and Entering, Larceny of a Firearm and Felony Animal Abuse.

Police seized two guns, 114 grams of cocaine and 879 grams of marijuana from the Kia.

Police said Beck already had outstanding warrants outside of Davidson County for armed robbery.

Police are still searching for the third person wanted in connection with the robbery.
