Winston-Salem Man Shot Multiple Times Following Argument With Neighbor

Police say Thomas Hairston was shot multiple times by his neighbor John Strothers, after the two argued.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man was shot multiple times by his neighbor following a verbal argument Thursday in Winston-Salem. 

The shooting happened in the 2300 block of Greenway Avenue, police said. 

Police say Thomas Hairston, 57, was shot multiple times by his neighbor John Strothers, 59, after the two argued.

Hairston is currently being treated at a local hospital. 

Strothers was arrested at the scene and charged with the following.

-Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury

-Possession of Firearm by a Felon

-Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits

Police didn't reveal what the argument was about.
