2020 NFL Draft: Carolina Panthers selections

In the 2020 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers take defensive tackle, Derrick Brown, with the 7th pick. They continue to add to their team.

Round 2, No: 38: Yetur Gross-Matos, defensive end, Penn State

Round 2, No. 64: Jeremy Chinn, safety, Southern Illinois

Round 4, No. 113: Troy Pride Jr., cornerback, Notre Dame

Round 5, No. 152: Kenny Robinson, safety, West Virginia 

Round 6, No. 184: Bravvion Roy, a defensive tackle, Baylor

Round 7, No 221: Stantley Thomas-Oliver III, cornerback, FIU

In the 2020 NFL Draft, The Carolina Panthers select Auburn defensive tackle, Derrick Brown, with the 7th pick.

Brown is from Sugar Hill Georgia and played 4 years for the Auburn Tigers.

In his 2019 season, he won SEC Defensive Player of the Year. He had 12.5 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, 4 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries. He had 170 tackles in his career.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound, player is a powerful and explosive player that can help the Panthers win games in the future. 

In round 2, the Panthers took Yetur Gross-Matos with the 38th pick. He's a defensive end out of Penn State. 

Gross-Matos played three seasons at Penn State. He totaled 111 tackles, 19.0 sacks, and 37.0 tackles for loss.

The Seattle Seahawks traded the 64th pick to the Carolina Panthers. With the 64th pick, the Panthers took Jermey Chinn, a safety out of Southern Illinois. He's the highest selected out of Southern Illinois since 1984.  

In round 4, the Panthers took Troy Pride Jr. with the 113th pick. He is a cornerback out of Notre Dame. He had 121 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 18 pass breakups in his college career. He was also a part of the track team for the Irish. He ran a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine. 

In round 5, the Panthers took Kenny Robinson with the 152nd pick. He is a safety out of West Virginia and he played in the XFL. He's the second player to join Carolina that played in the XFL. The Panthers recently signed quarterback P.J Walker of the Houston Roughnecks. 

In round 6, the Panthers took Bravvion Roy with the 184th pick. He is a defensive tackle out of Baylor. Matt Rhule coached a Baylor, so he knows his player well. 

In round 7, the Panthers took Stantley Thomas-Oliver II with the 221st pick. He is a cornerback out of Florida International University.

The Panthers chose 7 defensive players in the draft.
