DURHAM, N.C. – Duke forward Zion Williamson has been named the ACC Freshman of the Week, earning the award for the second time this season.

Williamson has recorded three consecutive double-doubles, including a 25-point, 10-rebound effort in the Blue Devils’ 87-68 win over Clemson to open conference play on Saturday. The freshman from Spartanburg, S.C., was 9-of-11 from the field and added two steals and two blocks in 22 minutes of work.

The ACC’s third-leading scorer at 20.2 points per game, Williamson is also second in the ACC in field goal percentage (.664) and third in rebounding (9.5). He is the league’s only player ranked among the top 10 for both steals and blocked shots.

Duke is paced by freshman RJ Barrett’s 22.9 points per game and Williamson’s 20.2, making the Blue Devils the only major conference team with two players each averaging 20 points per game.

Over the last five-plus seasons, Duke has had the ACC Freshman of the Week in 50 of possible 96 weeks.

The top-ranked Blue Devils (12-1, 1-0) battle Wake Forest on Tuesday night in Winston-Salem.
