GREENSBORO, NC (WFMY) -- It's not every day that someone is selected to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game.

That's why when it happens it's not only a BIG deal but also a HUGE honor!

We're proud to say our very own Luke Lyddon was awarded that great honor Saturday in Burlington at the Burlington Royals vs. Pulaski County Yankees game.

But Lyddon wasn't the only local hero to be awarded the honor of throwing out the first pitch.

About an hour down the road in Winston-Salem, NBA superstar Chris Paul threw out the first pitch at the Winston-Salem Dash vs. Potomac Nationals game!

We have to say, both of our hometown guys faired pretty well out there on the mound, but a career in baseball may not be in the future anytime soon.
