FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — 3:45 p.m. Update: All lanes of traffic are now open after a multivehicle crash.
The Winston-Salem Fire department says one person has died and several others were injured.
Update: Only the right lane on I-40 west near I-74 at exit 196 is closed.
A car crash has closed I-40 near I-74 west in Forsyth County near mile marker 196, according to state officials.
Officials are advising drivers to take alternate routes.
