Guilford County man killed in NC-62 crash caused by suspected impaired driver

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Troopers said a man died in a crash caused by a suspected impaired driver near Pleasant Garden on Monday. 

It happened on NC-62 near Racine Road shortly before 2 p.m. 

North Carolina State Highway Patrol said an SUV crossed the center line and hit the side of a semi-truck, causing it to flip. 

The truck driver, 34-year-old Aubrey Clapp, of Julian, died at the scene. 

Police arrested the SUV driver, 52-year-old Lance Miller, and charged him death by motor vehicle, DWI, and careless and reckless driving.
