GREENSBORO, N.C. — At least one person was injured Friday in a house fire in Greensboro.
The fire was reported just after 4:30 a.m. at a home in the 1000 block of E. Wendover Avenue. Firefighters said one person was inside the home and suffered third-degree burns. The person was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.
Homeland Avenue between E. Bessemer Avenue and E. Wendover Avenue was closed as more than a dozen firefighters worked to put out hot spots and search for anyone else who might be inside the home.
Homeland Avenue reopened around 8:45 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
