LEXINGTON, N.C. — Get ready for a piggy-good time! The Lexington Barbecue Festival is Saturday, October 26 and NC By Train is offering a special one-day stop at the event. 

NC By Train's Piedmont and Carolinian trains, which stop at seven stations between Charlotte and Raleigh, will drop off and pick up passengers in Lexington in the morning and afternoon. Use station code LEX when booking your trip

More than 200,000 people are expected to attend the free festival from 8:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Here's how Triad travelers can get to and from the festival: 

Getting to the Festival

Departing from Greensboro: 

  • Take the 8:03 a.m. Piedmont 73 train, arrive in Lexington at 8:40 a.m.
  • Take the 11:33 a.m. Piedmont 75 train, arrive in Lexington at 12:10 p.m.

Departing from High Point:

  • Take the 8:19 a.m. Piedmont 73 train, arrive in Lexington at 8:40 a.m. 
  • Take the 11:49 a.m. Piedmont 75 train, arrive in Lexington at 12:10 p.m.

Departing from Burlington: 

  • Take the 7:38 a.m. Piedmont 73 train, arrive in Lexington at 8:40 a.m.
  • Take the 11:08 a.m. Piedmont 75 train, arrive in Lexington at 12:10 p.m.

Going Home From the Festival

Toward Greensboro: 

  • Take the 4:17 p.m. Piedmont 76 train, arrive in Greensboro at 4:51 p.m.
  • Take the 8:02 p.m. Piedmont 78 train, arrive in Greensboro at 8:36 p.m.

Toward High Point: 

  • Take the 4:17 p.m. Piedmont 76 train, arrive in High Point at 4:33 p.m.
  • Take the 8:02 p.m. Piedmont 78 train, arrive in High Point at 8:18 p.m.

Toward Burlington: 

  • Take the 4:17 p.m. Piedmont 76 train, arrive in Burlington at 5:13 p.m.
  • Take the 8:02 p.m. Piedmont 78 train, arrive in Burlington at 8:58 p.m.
