NCDOT Workers Clearing Mudslide Washed Into River While Inside Dump Truck

NCDOT tells WFMY News 2 the workers were helping to clear the mudslide in McDowell County, when the dump truck was pushed off a road and into the Catawba River.

McDOWELL COUNTY, N.C.-- Two NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) employees are safe after their dump truck was washed into a river.

They were able to climb out of the truck through a passenger window, and stood on the side of the truck until emergency crews got them to safety.
