GREENSBORO, N.C. — Keep an eye on the weather today. We'll see some rain, but there's the chance we could see some strong or severe thunderstorms too, mainly in the middle of the day. The WFMY News 2 Weather Team is tracking it for you.
By midday, it's possible we could see some clearing in the sky. That could set the stage for thunderstorms as the cold front approaches.
The main time frame to watch will be between 12pm to 4pm as storms try to form and move west to east across the Piedmont.
"There will be very high winds in the atmosphere tomorrow," says Chief Meteorologist Tim Buckley. "Any storms that form could take that high wind and bring it down to the surface, so we need to be alert."
The main concern with any storms would be for some damaging wind gusts, but some hail or even an isolated tornado can't be ruled out either.
Skies will clear by evening leading to a nice crisp fall night. Sunny weather will return for a few days.
