We'll see a slight dip in heat and humidity early this week.

After a hot & humid weekend, we'll see a slight break in the heat early in the week, before hot weather returns as we head towards next weekend.

A cold front will sweep across North Carolina Monday. It's not a strong front, but it will help to produce a few pop-up showers. The rain won't be widespread, but a few cells may produce locally heavy rain. We'll start the day dry, before rain chances climb to 30% or so in your neighborhood during the afternoon hours.

The cold front will settle to our south Tuesday, leading to an influx of slightly cooler and less humid air. Highs Tuesday will likely stay in the low to mid-80s. Wednesday will be a similar day.

By Thursday, the front will move northward as a warm front, ushering in more hot and muggy air. Thursday into the weekend, highs will return to the upper 80s to low 90s. As far as rain chances are concerned, other than Monday, rain chances will be 20% or less the rest of the week. Here's a look at the 7 Day Forecast for this week.
