21st Annual Auction Raises $$$ For the Northeast Guilford Fire Department

The fundraising auction helps the fire department buy rescue equipment that isn't covered by the county budget.

For the 21st straight year, the Northeast Guilford Fire department hosted its annual auction in Browns Summit to raise money for rescue equipment.

The fire chief says his department operates off the county budget, but that money doesn't cover extra equipment needed to help others during emergencies.

Fire Chief Steve Apple says the money will go towards equipment to help with vehicle extraction, among other things.

Chief Apple tells us the goal for the auction is to raise $12,000 to $13,000.
