Open House For Greensboro Students Who Have to Relocate Schools After Tornado

Guilford County Schools (GCS) is hosting open house events at the three schools Sunday, April 22, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. GCS transportation will be provided for those needing it.

GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Students who attended Erwin Montessori, Peeler and Hampton elementary schools will get an opportunity to tour their new school.

Guilford County Schools (GCS) is hosting open house events at the three schools Sunday, April 22, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. GCS transportation will be provided for those needing it.

Families from both receiving and relocating schools are invited to attend.

Students and their families will get the chance to meet other families and hear from leaders of both schools. Representatives from GCS offices, including transportation, student services (counseling/social workers) and others, will be in attendance to provide information and answer any questions.

Details for the open house locations/receiving schools are:

-- Bluford Elementary - located at 1901 Tuscaloosa St. will welcome students from Peeler Elementary. A bus shuttle will depart from the Family Dollar parking lot (at Woodbriar Ave. and Phillips Ave.) at 2 p.m.

-- Alamance Elementary - located at 3600 Williams Dairy Road - will welcome students from Erwin Montessori. A bus shuttle will depart from the Hairston Middle parking lot (3911 Naco Road, Greensboro) at 2 p.m.

-- Reedy Fork Elementary - located at 4571 Reedy Fork Parkway - will welcome students and staff from Hampton Elementary is the relocating school. A bus shuttle will depart from the Willow Oak neighborhood (the west side of English Street on Willow Leaf Ave.) at 2 p.m.
