GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro Police say a traffic stop led to an officer-involved shooting on Battleground Avenue at Edney Ridge Road around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said three suspects were in a car. Two of them jumped out of the car and ran.

According to Public Information Officer Susan Danielsen, a K9 officer and his dog caught up with one of the men who ran from the car. Police say the man raised a handgun from his waist area, which resulted in the officer firing several rounds at him, striking him at least once. Police say the man was taken to a local hospital and is currently listed in "guarded condition."

Police say the woman who stayed in the car, and the other man who ran are currently in police custody and being interviewed. Charges are pending.
