Some Apartments Required to Plow Snow

With a foot of snow on the ground, it's difficult to get around, especially in parking lots.

If you live in an apartment complex, you're likely dealing with snow piles everywhere in the parking lot.

Some apartment complexes are required to move the snow in a timely manner - but it all depends on where you live.

The City of Winston-Salem, for example, does not have an ordinance requiring apartment complexes to remove snow.

The City of Greensboro, however, has an ordinance on the books requiring it.

The ordinance requires the owner or the management company to remove snow accumulation within 24 hours of it falling.

If you're having an issue with the city, city reps say you need to send a request in writing to management to have the snow removed. If you email it, feel free to CC the city on it.

If you don't get a response, you need to contact the city to file a complaint.
