Church Holds Prayer Circle For Triad Teen Hit By Tour Bus in D.C.

"It really just shocked me," said Morgan Tribble, Hunter's cousin. "I immediately started praying for him. It's just so hard to believe something like that could happen."

WILKESBORO, N.C. -- Candles illuminated Fishing Creek Baptist Church on Sunday evening as members of the congregation came together to pray for one of their own.

More than 50 church-goers attended a candlelight prayer circle for Hunter Brown, a member of the congregation who is in the hospital in critical condition.

The 14-year-old was on a school field trip in Washington, D.C. on Friday. A tour bus rammed into him as he tried to cross a street, pinning him underneath the bus.

"It really just shocked me," said Morgan Tribble, Hunter's cousin. "I immediately started praying for him. It's just so hard to believe something like that could happen."

The congregation said prayers for Hunter and collected donations and cards for his family.

"We're looking for him to come back home," said Darryl Brown, another one of Hunter's relatives. "Either here on this earth or his heavenly home. We hope here with us. But God is in charged."
