The King of racing is auctioning off some of his most historic memorabilia and Triad racing fans can bid for it.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty is auctioning off some of his racing collection and fans can get in on the action in person and live online. Julien's auctions is organizing the event, where Race-winning cars, trophies, suits and other awesome relics will be auctioned off.

Petty and his classic 1992 No. 43 Pontiac Gand Prix will be on hand May 12 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino to auction off some big-ticket items in a banner event for racing fans and collectors.

Petty, from Level Cross, NC, had a 35-year career in racing that included over 200 wins and seven NASCAR championships.
