All lanes reopened after semi-truck carrying livestock catches fire on I-40 W in Winston-Salem, police say

The Winston-Salem Fire Department said the truck was carrying livestock at the time of the fire.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — UPDATE: All lanes are now open.

Winston-Salem police said all westbound lanes of Interstate 40 are temporarily closed to all traffic Tuesday. 

The Winston-Salem Fire Department said a semi-truck carrying livestock caught fire. 

Police said the Winston-Salem fire crews are on the scene extinguishing the fire. All traffic is being diverted to Thomasville Road.

No injuries were reported, according to police. 

Drivers are encouraged to find another route through the area.
