CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. – An investigation is underway after a girl was bitten by a K9 Friday, according to the Shelby Police Department.
Police tell NBC Charlotte the officers were serving a felony warrant on a suspect near the intersection of Buffalo Street and Lineberger Street in Shelby. Upon arrival, K9 officer was near a young girl, SPD said.
The K9 bit the girl and local paramedics responded to the dog bite call. The girl was transported to a local hospital and is reportedly in stable condition, SPD said.
Officials did not specify the felony warrant police was responding to. The incident is under investigation, police said.
