Beyonce's new single 'Texas Hold 'Em' features Greensboro banjo player

Rhiannon Giddens can be heard playing banjo in the first few seconds of Beyonce's new song called "Texas Hold 'Em."

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro, NC native's musical talents are featured on Beyonce's new album.

Two-time Grammy winner Rhiannon Giddens said she learned the day after the Super Bowl that she has an instrumental track on one of Beyonce's new singles.

Giddens said she recorded a few banjo tracks two years ago for a secret project. She just learned that project was Beyonce's new song 'Texas Hold 'Em.' In the first 12 seconds of the song, you hear Giddens on the banjo.

Beyonce teased the new music in a commercial during the Super Bowl on Sunday night. It led fans to her website, where she teased "act ii" on March 29. Beyonce's 2022 album Renaissance is often referred to as "Act I: Renaissance."

Beyonce's new single "Texas Hold 'Em" is now streaming on all major music platforms.

Giddens also has new music out. Check out her new album "You're The One" here.

I woke up yesterday morning to new music from Beyoncé, featuring none other than my banjo and viola playing throughout....
