GREENSBORO, N.C. — To celebrate WFMY News 2 turning 75, we are opening the News 2 Vault.
On May 23, 1997, we found people focused on two things: staying patient and finding Beanie Babies. The Beanie Baby craze was in full swing.
We found people standing in long lines waiting for a store selling them to open.
Once the store opened, people were pretty civil and got inside for the Beanie Babies of their choice.
