CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Bobcats and local tourism officials want nearly $42 million in improvements at Time Warner Arena.

The Charlotte Observer reported the team and the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority put together a list of improvements they say are needed in the facility that is less than nine years old that includes moving the ticket office, renovating restaurants and making improvements in suites. The 25-year lease called for the team and the tourism agency to review the $260 million arena's needs seven years after it opened. Deputy City Manager Ron Kimble said there likely will be negotiations on the improvements.

The request comes less than a year after the city decided to provide more than $87 million for improvements at Bank of America Stadium, home of the NFL's Carolina Panthers.
