GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Children's Home Society of North Carolina is hosting the 3rd Annual CHS Sunshine 5k & Family Festival on Saturday June 8.
The Sunshine 5K and Family Festival is a family-friendly event to raise awareness and help support families across the state with the resources they need to be a forever family. The day will include:
- 3.1- or 1-Mile Walk/Run
- Kids 100-Yard Dash
- Kids and Family Activities and Games
- Food Trucks and Local Vendors
- Music and Special Performers
On June 8, everything kicks off at 8:00am in Greensboro's Country Park. All festivities will start and finish at the Jaycee Park parking lot at 3802 Jaycee Park Drive, Greensboro. There is no charge to attend the Family Festival, however people participating in the 5K must sign up and pay a registration fee.
Ages 12 and older
$40 per person March 1 - June 7
$45 per person Race Day Registration
Ages 6-11
$15 per person March 1 - June 7
$15 per person Race Day Registration
Ages 5 and under free
Participation in the kids' 100 yard dash is free for children ages 3-10.
The Children's Home Society's goal is simple: to be a compassionate advocate for families. They specialize in education and prevention programs, family preservation, and adoption and foster care. Ultimately, everything they do is built on their foundational belief that strong families have the power to transform communities. They have 11 offices around the state which support all 100 counties in North Carolina.
