Crews Work To Fix A Water Main Break In Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The City of Greensboro is working to fix a water main break.

It happened around 4:00 a.m. at the corner of Florida Street and Lexington Avenue.

When crews arrived, water was flowing down the street and creating a muddy mess for some residents.

Even though workers turned off the water, residents say, they still had water access.

City workers say it all depends on how serious the problem is and where the damage is exactly located on the pipe.

Crews are using heavy machinery to reach the damaged pipe underground.

No word yet on when the work is expected to be complete.

Greensboro police closed a section of Florida Street as crews work to fix the water main.

Drivers are encouraged to follow the detours posted or avoid the area.
