Man dies after shooting on N. Greene St., police say

Two victims were found on the scene and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man is dead after an early morning shooting in Greensboro, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

Greensboro police said they responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 block of North Greene Street at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25.

Two victims were found on the scene and taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

Devonte Jamaal Stephenson, 24, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second victim is in critical condition, according to police.

All lanes of South Greene Street between West Friendly Avenue and West Market Street were closed for several hours for the investigation.

A WFMY News 2 team member drove by the scene this morning. Police tape was tied from one traffic pole to another blocking Greene Street. Traffic cones redirected drivers away from the scene.
