Five people killed over the weekend in Greensboro, police say

Greensboro police had a busy weekend, it started with a double murder early Saturday morning and was followed by a double murder early Sunday morning.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — It was a deadly weekend in Greensboro. Police said they're investigating two double murders, one of which involved a mother and her daughter.

Officers said a mother and daughter were shot and killed early Saturday morning

The two women were identified as 41-year-old Ivy Gray and her daughter 22-year-old Kaile McLean.

People who live in the area said it happened at LeMans at Lawndale Apartment Homes in building 3012.

One neighbor, who did not want to disclose his identity for safety reasons said he heard the shots followed by a woman screaming. He then ran to the apartment and saw them lying on the ground.

Police said witnesses gave them information about the suspect and they were able to find the car he escaped in.

Officers followed him for about four miles down the road until he lost control and crashed into a utility pole on Yanceyville Street and Rankin Road.

Michelle Wesclan lives in the area. She said she was up watching TV and heard it all.

"I heard the police and then I looked out the window and I saw they're still chasing. It was so many police. I ain't never seen that many. Then, I heard a big boom. It was like a double boom though because it said like boom, boom, but next thing I know the police done blocked this street off."

GPD said the suspect 28-year-old Justin Lyons was taken to the hospital with injuries after the crash. Police said there is a warrant out for Lyon's arrest for two counts of first-degree murder.

About 24 hours later, police responded to yet another shooting with two more victims

Officers said Carlos Alan Guerrero and Marseddez Elisa Lopez were shot and killed in the David Christian Place neighborhood.

As for Sunday's double murder, police have not made any arrests in that case yet. They do not believe it was random.
