HIGH POINT, N.C. — Police arrested two men who are facing nearly a dozen drug-related crimes after officers seized guns, illegal drugs, and thousands of dollars from a home in High Point Wednesday.
The High Point Police Department's Street Crimes Unit said they saw people with active arrest warrants walk into a home on the 400 block of Meredith Street around 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 28.
During the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at the home and found several items including:
- Two semi-automatic handguns
- Revolver
- 170 grams of heroin
- One pound of marijuana
- Nearly $10,000 in cash
Police said 18-year-old Aaron A. Hughes, 18, of High Point) is charged with:
- Trafficking, opium or heroin
- Conspire to traffic opium/heroin
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and distribute heroin
- Conspire to sell/deliver heroin
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and distribute cocaine
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and distribute schedule II controlled substance
- Felony possession of marijuana
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and distribute marijuana
- Conspire to sell/deliver cocaine
- Conspire to sell marijuana
Officers said 32-year-old Edward D. Ross, Jr., of High Point, is charged with:
- Possession of firearm by felon
- Trafficking, opium or heroin
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and distribute heroin
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and distribute schedule II controlled substance
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and distribute marijuana
- Felony possession of marijuana
- Maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for controlled substance
- Conspire to sell heroin (two counts)
- Conspire to sell cocaine
Both suspects are in the Guilford County Jail – High Point under no bond.
