Greensboro police said dozens of shots were fired on Berryman and Calvert Streets over the weekend.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Dozens of rounds were fired in a Greensboro neighborhood over the weekend, according to police.

The Greensboro Police Department said it happened around 8:20 p.m. on Sunday near Berryman and Calvery Streets. Investigators said more than 70 rounds of at least four different calibers were fired. Police said gunfire hit one home with someone inside and two unoccupied homes.

"They were coming through the baseboards the windows the walls," said the resident whose home was riddled with gunfire.

pullets went through an apartment at Woodberry Run in Greensboro. The woman who lives there didn't want her identity disclosed but told us her terrifying story.

"I saw the first bullet come through the window. It hit the blinds and you could see them rise up. Thank god my daughter left and my company left," The reside said. "My thought was to drop to the floor as I'm doing homework because this is not the first time. This is the 4th time my house has been shot up like this. I'm not safe no one is really safe. "

No one was injured, according to police.

The careless act's of violence has some residents worried they won't be as lucky next time.

"It's been nothing but the grace of god that has kept me alive. I feel like god has been sending me messages, letting me know its time to go," The resident said. "But with the hardship I'm in its hard to do. "

Families living on Calvert Street say they're also terrified.

"I worry at night someone's going to come by and shoot at our house," said resident Martha Holmes.

"You don't want to walk in the neighborhood by yourself," resident Cathie Faulkner said.

Marth and Cathy live across the street from the apartments where they say multiple shootings have taken place.

"I hope police get something done about it," Holmes said. "If police want to sit outside our home they're welcome to because enough is enough. "

Police have not shared information on any suspects but neighbors say the shoot outs are happening between two groups near the apartment's playground putting children in the crossfire.

"Think about these kids. This is not whatever you have going on with the next person," the resident said. "I want peace and quiet just the same as anyone. I want to feel safe in my home. I want kids to get to play outside."

Greensboro police are asking for the community's help by reporting any illegally owned guns. Gun Stoppers pays a minimum of a $250 cash reward (per gun) to anyone who anonymously reports an illegal gun. That tip leads to an arrest and/or confiscation of an illegal gun by the Greensboro Police Department or the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office.

“It’s a safe way for people to share tips with us to help protect their neighborhoods and their families from violence. This type of information is important when trying to solve such shootings,” Capt. Anthony Price said Monday.

Share the tip through Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000. Residents can also download the mobile P3tips app for Apple or Android phones to submit a mobile tip or go to P3tips.com for a web tip. All tips are completely anonymous.
