Teen girl kidnapped at knifepoint from High Point home, police say

Police said an 18-year-old male forced a 17-year-old girl into his car with a knife and drove to Virginia.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A 17-year-old girl was kidnapped from her home at knifepoint in High Point, police say.

Officers responded to the home on the southeast of High Point Monday night around 9:40 p.m.

A witness told officers that 18-year-old Francisco De Jesus Delgado Arevalo came into the home, forced the victim out with a knife, put her in a car, and drove off. Officers said the victim and Delgado Arevalo knew each other.

Officers took out warrants for his arrest and sent a notice to other agencies in several states to look out for the suspect and his car.

Around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, officers in Christiansburg, Virginia spotted the car on an interstate, and Delgado Arevalo was arrested.

The 17-year-old girl was inside the car and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, expected to recover.

Delgado Arevalo is facing several charges in High Point including first-degree kidnapping and will face additional charges in Virginia.

This investigation is ongoing.
