Arrest Made in Deadly Shooting Outside Winston-Salem Food Lion

A man was arrested in connection with a deadly shooting last Friday near a Food Lion grocery store.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - An arrest was made Tuesday in connection with a deadly shooting Friday night in Winston-Salem.

Charlie Andrew Goldsmith was arrested by Winston-Salem Police for Murder. Goldsmith is being held with no bond allowed at the Forsyth County Detention Center.

Friday, Winston-Salem police found Jordan Anthony Gabriel, 21, suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso in a Honda Accord outside the Food Lion on Somerset Center Drive.

Gabriel was taken to North Carolina Baptist Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

Police believed the shooting was not a random act and that the assailant knew the victim.

Goldsmith's first court appearance is set for Wednesday, Aug. 1. A photo of Goldsmith wasn't released for investigative reasons.
