NC A&T partners with Cone Health to open Urgent Care in east Greensboro

Cone Health said it chose the area due to shorter lifespans, lower income, and lack of easy access to health care.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Cone Health announced plans to open an Urgent Care in the eastern part of Greensboro.

The $32 million project is a partnership with the North Carolina A&T State University Real Estate Foundation.

The mixed-use building will be in the area of East Market Street near Benbow Road, across from NC A&T's campus. Cone Health's urgent care and primary care medical offices will be on the first two floors.

The health care system said it chose the area because of shorter lifespan than others, low-income, and and lack of easy access to health care.

Groundbreaking for the building will be held in late April.
