Brian Kelly is behind The Points Guy website which is designed to help others gain insight into the points travel game. Everyday, the latest credit card reward deals are listed and there is even a beginners guide to figuring out which card best fits your needs.

"2015 is the year of the sign up bonus. we've seen it rise 25% across the board and as the economy rebounds, credit card companies are doing well and are offering consumers really good deals."

Kelly revealed the places where you'll see some of the best deals and some of the worst.

BEST:

"I recommend you open up your mail. Credit card companies are sending some of the most lucrative offers by snail mail, which doesn't make sense in 2015, but it happens."

WORST:

"The credit card deals in airports and on airplanes are less lucrative, they take advantage of those in the airport.. So do your research and make sure you're getting the very best offer or our hot deals page which we update every single day."

Brian says if you fly a lot of different airlines your best travel rewards card is the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

"It allows you to transfer your points to 11 different partners from United to British Airways, even Amtrak."

And if you have a family that needs to get a number of seats on peak flights -- you need to go with a rewards card that gives you cash back versus miles. He says it will be too much of a hassle to try and coordinate all those miles with seats for family members all on the same flights. He recommends: Capital One Venture Card, Barclay Arrival.
