Yes, You Can Catch Food Poisoning. Here's How....

You can catch it if people don't wash their hands.

When you think of food poisoning, you think about only the food you ate. But really, you can catch food poisoning from someone else.

Consumer Reports says it almost always goes back to poor hand washing. People infected with a food borne bacteria can pass it to another person because they didn't wash their hands, either after they handled contaminated food, or after they went to the bathroom.

So wash. Wash up. The CDC says you need to do it with soap and water for about 20 seconds. You can recite the ABC's. Make sure you don
t just get your palms but your fingertips too.

Here's something else, don't rely on hand sanitizers. The CDC says they don't kill all the germs, handwashing is just better.

Wipe down and sanitize. Disinfecting all surfaces like bathroom sinks and doorknobs sounds like a pain, but it works.

And stay out of the kitchen if there is even a small chance you have a foodborne illness. Don't prepare food for other people.

And have I mentioned washing your hands?
