Blue Cross NC Allowing Early Prescription Refills Ahead Of Winter Storm

"Those in the affected areas should focus on protecting themselves, their families and their property without additional worries," Blue Cross NC President and CEO Patrick Conway said. "We have initiated procedures to ensure that our customers can get the medications they need during and after the winter storm."

DURHAM, NC (WFMY) -- Due to the winter storm that is expected to hit North Carolina over the weekend, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC (Blue Cross NC) will allow early prescription refills to make sure that customers have access to the drugs they need.

This action is in effect for the entire state under a state of emergency declared Friday by Gov. Roy Cooper.

“Those in the affected areas should focus on protecting themselves, their families and their property without additional worries,” Blue Cross NC President and CEO Patrick Conway said. “We have initiated procedures to ensure that our customers can get the medications they need during and after the winter storm.”

Those who have questions about their coverage can contact the customer service number on the back of their Blue Cross NC card.

As the winter storm hits the state, Blue Cross NC will continue to update customers through the company’s blog at blog.bcbsnc.com and through social media sites.

Early prescription refills will be available to customers in all 100 counties until Gov. Cooper ends the state of emergency declaration.
