Davidson County Clerk of Court Resigns After Improper Use of State Computers

Interim Clerk of Court Joretta Black confirms Brian Shipwash resigned from office Monday afternoon.

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Davidson County Clerk of Court Brian Shipwash resigned from his position on Monday, court officials confirmed. 

County officials say they were told Shipwash was leaving to pursue other opportunities. 

Scott Williams with the State Bureau of Investigation confirms they were investigating Shipwash for several issues but could only specify improper use of state computers.

Superior Court Judge Mark Klass will appoint Shipwash's replacement. 

In the meantime, the Interim County Clerk of Court is Joretta Black.
