Davidson County reports fourth case of coronavirus

The health department says the new case did not happen by community spread in Davidson County.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — Davidson County Public Health is reporting a fourth case of coronavirus in the county. 

Health officials said the person who tested positive is in close contact with another person who already tested positive for coronavirus. 

In another case, a patient traveled outside of North Carolina. The case is not considered acquired by community transmission in Davidson County. 

The health department says it is reaching out to close contacts of the individual.
