Get Your Valentine's Day Flower Orders In Now

You still have time to order, but not much. Here's why you should order your Valentine's Day flowers today.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Valentine's Day is tomorrow, February 14th and there's some good news if you haven't ordered flowers yet.

You have time to order, but not much!  If you want flowers delivered to your love bug on Valentine's Day, Clark Goodin at Plants and Answers in Greensboro says you'll want to get those orders in today.

"To be safe, order Wednesday by Noon, if possible.  It's not that we don't have time to make the stuff but if it's a delivery request, that's our big issue," said Goodin.  "Everyone wants them by Noon on Valentine's Day but we can't do 100 deliveries by Noon, that's just impossible."

And here's a tip to keep some money in your pocket this Valentine's Day. Goodin says a dozen red roses will run you $75 dollars.  Some flowers shops will overcharge you when you order late, so if you pay more than $100, you're paying too much.  Don't fall for it, but definitely get on the ball with your orders.

Also remember, when it comes to ordering flowers, not all services are equal. The problem with ordering from the chain suppliers over the phone or online is you never quite know what you're going to get or which shop it is coming from.

Goodin says the best thing to do is to go the local route.

"There's a lot of order gatherers out there, such as Flowers Sent Today, 1-800 Flowers, all of these are just companies.  They do not own flower shops," said Goodin.  "All they do is take your money, get your order and try to find a florist to fill it.  If you want good satisfaction and good service go direct to the source."

Clark Goodin from Plants and Answers says most local florists don't charge you for delivery within the area.  But you better believe if you order from a company like 1-800 Flowers, you're going to pay a delivery fee and other service fees just for ordering from them.
