Greensboro Mom Reunited with Pillow that Belonged to Six-Month-Old Son who Passed

When Molly Kramer found out the dinosaur head pillow, or boppy, that her son used had accidently been donated, she panicked.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WFMY)-- A Greensboro mom is reunited with a special pillow that was accidentally donated to the Samet Drive Goodwill in High Point.

When Molly Kramer found out the dinosaur head pillow, or boppy, that her son used had accidently been donated, she panicked.

It's one of the special items she kept after her six-month-old Drew Kramer passed away in 2015.

"The fact that his head had been on it and he had touched it, broke my heart to know that we probably wouldn't get it back," said Kramer.

Drew was born with a rare form of dwarfism and wasn't expected to live long past birth. The boppy is where he spent a lot of time because of his medical issues.

"He used it every day. He also had pretty severe scoliosis, so it was hard to find something that kept him upright and that we were able to use with him. So he used this every day," said Kramer.

The boppy was accidently donated to a Triad Goodwill store on Friday. When Goodwill employees learned about it on Sunday, they immediately started searching for the beloved pillow.

"I cannot imagine what Molly and her family have been through over the past few years. And to have something so sentimental to her have a possibility of never coming back, that really touched me as a mother as well," said Sarah Lanse, Marketing Specialist for Triad Goodwill.

After looking through hundreds of items, they found it Monday morning using surveillance video footage to see exactly which bin it was put in.

"I was glad to be able to watch her be reunited with this pillow, that for most of us is just a pillow to help prop up a baby or to help nurse a baby, in this case it has so much more meaning to her," said Lanse.

Reuniting Kramer with something that makes her feel close to Drew. "It means the world to us. I mean without the shares and the people looking and reaching out to whoever they knew, that we would have never found it," said Kramer.
