High Point Teen Found Shot in Foot 90 Minutes After Deadly Shooting: Police

Police found a 15-year-old girl at a home on the 700 block of Fairview St. had been shot in the foot.

HIGH POINT, NC (WFMY) - A teenage girl was found shot in the foot Thursday morning in High Point less than two hours after a woman was found dead of a gunshot wound in a nearby road.

Police were at the scene of a homicide investigation in the 1400 block of Franklin Ave. around 3:30 a.m. after a woman was shot and killed. While investigating that shooting, they heard around 30 to 40 shots in succession nearby around 5 a.m.

They later found a 15-year-old girl at a home on the 700 block of Fairview St. had been shot in the foot. She was taken to the hospital for her injury, which wasn't considered life-threatening. No one else inside the home was injured.

Officers responding to the shooting of the teen girl found approximately 35 shell casings in the road in front of the home, most of which were fired from a rifle. Investigators say the home was targeted in the shooting. No motive or suspect information is available at this time for this shooting.
