WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — An 18-year-old was hit by a car in Winston-Salem Wednesday night, police say.

The Winston-Salem Police Department responded to a call about a vehicle crash involving a person walking along the roadway. When officers arrived, they found Adair Villareal Molina, laying on the ground on the 3200 block of Patterson Avenue.

Forsyth County EMS provided treatment on the scene before taking Molina to a local medical facility.

Investigators said Molina failed to yield to oncoming traffic while walking outside of a marked crosswalk before he was hit by a 2004 Buick driven by 54-year-old Cynthia Edell Hardy. Hardy was driving south on Patterson Avenue coming from Indiana Avenue.

Molina sustained a minor injury related to this crash.

No charges are being filed against Hardy or Molina for this crash.
