NFL Cracks Down On Copyright Laws, Shuts Down Church Super Bowl Parties

First Baptist Church in Summerfield cancelled its party due to its plans to show a testimonial video.

Summerfield, NC -- The NFL crashed the party.League officials threatened to sue people who threw a superbowl bash without meeting certain requirements.And what the NFL wanted wrecked plans at churches nationwide.First Baptist Church in Summerfield planned to show the game on two projection screens in the gym.Ministers had even paid $100 for a testimonial video they were going to show during halftime.But the NFL says fans can't alter the message of the broadcast or show it on screens larger then 55 inches.The decision disappointed Pastor Richard Odom."Of course they say bars and night clubs can use it for free, but if you're a church you have to pay for it," he said.The church cancelled its Super Bowl viewing party.Pastor Odom says other churches decided to broadcast the game and show the testimonial anyway.
