WENTWORTH, N.C.-- The new call center allows all the 911 calls from Eden, Reidsville and Rockingham County to be handled under one roof.
All of the communication systems are brand new, including the 911 call handling system.
"We're able to offer a lot more functionality to the responders and give them the information as callers are giving it to us a lot better than what we did in the past," says Johnny Bowles, Emergency Services director in Rockingham County.
The new call center was built with a grant,worth close to $8 million from the North Carolina 911 board.
A formal dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new 911 call center is scheduled for May 15th.
